"GROOVY"

"Groovy" is a piece taking inspiration from the graphic design for jazz music, particularly Blue Note Records and works from Paul Bacon and John Hermansader. This project was an exploration of material typography, using vinyl records to create letterforms. This piece represents the origins of the word "groovy" through the material used and the design style referenced.

The creation process and inspiration references are documented in a booklet, stylized similar to the piece itself.

Was displayed as part of the exhibition "Material Language" in the William King Museum of Art from January-April 2026.
